Aitsu Widget Terms of Service

Thank you for installing “Aitsu Widget” (hereinafter referred to as “this App”). To ensure you can use this App more comfortably, please read the following Terms of Service carefully. By using this App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms of Service.

Service Overview

This App is a service that reads RSS feeds and displays them in widgets with personalized comments generated through AI.

To use this App, you need your own API key for at least one of the AI providers supported by this App. This App supports the following categories of providers:

• Major AI providers: OpenAI / Google Gemini / Anthropic Claude, etc.
• OpenAI-compatible providers: External services that offer an OpenAI-compatible API, such as Grok (xAI) / OpenRouter / Groq / Mistral, etc.

For the accurate, up-to-date list of supported providers and selectable models, please refer to the in-app screen (settings). Supported providers and models may be added, removed, or changed through app updates.

※ The free Gemini access via Firebase AI Logic that was previously offered as a beta has now ended along with the beta period and is no longer provided.

Age Restrictions

This App has the following age restrictions:

• 13 years or older: Restrictions based on the Terms of Service of each AI provider supported by this App
• Under 18 years old: Consent from a parent or legal guardian is required

These age restrictions are established to protect the safety and privacy of our users. Age restrictions may vary depending on the AI provider and your region, so please review the Terms of Service of the provider you intend to use before using this App.

API Keys and Data Transmission

This App uses the API of the AI provider selected by the user. You need your own API key to use this App. For the accurate list of supported providers, please refer to the in-app screen (settings).

Data Handling:

• API Key: Encrypted and stored within your device, transmitted only to the servers of the AI provider you have selected, for the purpose of providing AI functionality
• Prompts and RSS Content: Transmitted to the servers of the AI provider you have selected for AI processing
• Anonymous Usage Statistics: Transmitted to Google Firebase Analytics for app improvement
• Minimal Advertising-Related Information: May be transmitted to advertising providers for ad display

Regarding Fees:

• API usage fees are incurred according to the contract and pricing of the AI provider you have selected, and are borne by the user. The developer of this App does not collect any API fees and will not, for any reason, provide refunds or compensation.
• Google Gemini API offers a free tier; no fees may be incurred when using a free-tier API key. Fees may be incurred if the free tier is exceeded. For details, please check Google AI Studio.
• Paid providers such as OpenAI / Anthropic Claude / Grok (xAI) / OpenRouter / Groq / Mistral: Pricing varies by provider and model. To prevent unexpected high charges, be sure to set usage limits and alerts on each provider’s dashboard.
• You can control fees by adjusting the update frequency in settings.
• The list of supported providers and models may change. For the latest support status and selectable models, please check the in-app screen.

Handling of Prompts

In this App, you can set prompts yourself to control AI behavior.

Important Notes:

• If you do not set prompts, this App’s functions will not operate normally
• When using prompts, you must comply with the Terms of Service and Content Policy of the AI provider you have selected
• The use of prompts that encourage inappropriate content, illegal activities, harassment, or discriminatory expressions is prohibited
• If you provide instructions that violate these terms, API usage may be restricted

The developer cannot be held responsible for AI response content generated by prompts set by users.

Custom Images

The mascot images displayed in widgets can be changed to your own images.

Image Handling:

• Uploaded images are stored only within your device and are never transmitted externally
• Please use only images that do not infringe copyright
• You are responsible for confirming the copyright of images you set

RSS Feeds

• The developer cannot be held responsible for the content of RSS feeds you specify
• The developer is not responsible even if RSS feed reading fails or if there are changes to feed content
• Please use in accordance with the Terms of Service of the RSS feed provider’s website

Permissions

This App uses Android permissions to the extent necessary for providing the service (such as RSS retrieval, AI API communication, scheduled widget updates, TTS playback, and billing processing). For permissions that require confirmation at install time or at runtime, you can grant or deny them on the OS dialog. Please also refer to the “Data safety” section on the Google Play Store.

In particular, the following sensitive permissions are used only when the corresponding feature is enabled:

• Calendar Read Access: When the Plus Plan’s “Calendar Integration” feature is enabled, this App reads calendar information (titles and times) on your device. Calendar information is not read unless this feature is enabled.
• Notification Display: Used to display widget update status and necessary notifications.

Custom image selection uses Android’s system image picker (Photo Picker), so no storage access permission is requested. Only the image selected by the user is passed to the App.

Settings That May Affect App Operation

On some devices (e.g., MIUI, Huawei, etc.), the automatic update function may not operate normally if the following settings are not properly configured. To ensure comfortable use of this App, please check and adjust the following settings as necessary:

• Notification Permission: On Android 13 and later, notification permission is required at first launch
• Battery Optimization Exclusion: To maintain notifications in the background, please exclude from battery optimization
• Auto-Start Permission: On some devices, settings are required to allow the app to start automatically

Battery Consumption

Since this App operates as a widget, it performs update processes in the background and may consume battery. You can reduce battery consumption by adjusting the update frequency in settings.

Disclaimer

This App is provided as-is, and to the extent permitted by law, the developer’s liability for damages arising from its use is limited. However, this excludes cases of intentional or gross negligence by the developer.

Specific Limitations:

• Content generated by AI is completely automated, and the developer provides no guarantee or assumes no responsibility for its content
• This App may be changed or discontinued without notice
• When users publish or distribute AI content generated by this App externally, responsibility for the content belongs to the users themselves

Privacy Policy

Data Retention:

• Collected data is retained only for the period necessary to provide services and is appropriately deleted when no longer needed
• AI communications comply with the Privacy Policy of the AI provider you have selected

Calendar Data Usage: Only when you enable the Plus Plan’s “Calendar Integration” feature, which allows the character to make remarks based on your schedule, this App accesses calendar information on your device (titles and times) and temporarily sends it to the AI provider you have selected for AI processing. This information is used only to generate responses; it is not collected or stored by the developer, nor sold to third parties. Calendar information is not read unless this feature is enabled.

Plus Plan

This App offers some features as a monthly subscription called the “Plus Plan.”

Examples of features available with the Plus Plan:

• Calendar Integration: Based on calendar information on your device, the character makes remarks reflecting your schedule
• Scheduled Updates: Automatically updates the widget content at specified times

About Billing:

• Billing is processed through the Google Play billing system and charged to your Google account
• Subscriptions automatically renew for each period agreed upon at the time of purchase. You can cancel at any time from the subscription management screen on Google Play
• The developer of this App will not, in principle, provide refunds for subscriptions already paid for within the current period. If a refund is necessary, please contact Google in accordance with Google Play’s policies
• API fees charged by AI providers as a result of using AI-related features included in the Plus Plan (such as Calendar Integration) continue to be borne by the user via the user’s own API key

Analytics

This App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand usage patterns and make improvements.

• Anonymous statistical information (app launches, screen views, etc.) is automatically collected
• No personally identifiable information is included, and information is managed according to Google’s terms

Advertising

This App may display advertisements within the settings screen to maintain the service.

• No advertisements are displayed in the widget itself
• Minimal information such as device ID may be transmitted to advertising providers for ad display
• Advertisements are always displayed with consideration not to interfere with user experience

Usage Restrictions and Prohibited Acts

The following acts are prohibited:

• Decompiling, reverse engineering, analyzing, or copying/modifying this App
• Unauthorized disclosure, sale, or redistribution of the App’s software itself or system information to third parties
• Acts that interfere with the App’s operation or attempts at unauthorized access
• Using prompts or outputs that violate the content policies of the AI provider you have selected

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are interpreted in accordance with Japanese law. For all disputes arising in connection with this App, the court with jurisdiction over the developer’s location shall be the exclusive agreed court of first instance.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is deemed invalid or unenforceable by law, the other provisions shall continue to remain valid.

Support System

We will provide support for technical issues and questions to the extent possible. However, please note that responses may take time.

Updates

These Terms may be changed without notice. The latest and authoritative version of these Terms of Service is the one published on the following Terms of Service page:
